HipoTesis ha participado en el proyecto artístico Unface Book. Libro evolutivo escrito colaborativamente dentro de un álbum de fotos de Facebook, recientemente publicado por Vibok Works de Paula Álvarez. El proyecto Unface Book acaba de ser seleccionado para formar parte de la II Bienal de Diseño de Estambul.
Unface Book es un proyecto editorial experimental para crear un libro evolutivo utilizando Facebook como herramienta. Este libro se desarrolla dentro de un álbum de “Fotos de ti” de Facebook, como una colección de pensamientos entrelazados que exploran un tema dado. Una capa no prevista de significado y utilidad se añade a la red social para sugerir usos alternativos y divergentes de sus rutinas, sustentados por su propia tecnología. Si el diseño versa sobre el control, Unface Book testea los accidentes. Si los posts que compartimos suelen enfocar en lo nuevo y el presente, Unface Book se ocupa de hechos y valores atemporales. Si los comentarios sirven para compartir opiniones personales en muros y ventanas digitales, Unface Book se ocupa de quello que los cruza, más allá de las restricciones del diseño. Si las redes sociales promueven la transparencia y la apertura, Unface Book explora la opaciadad, la inescrutabilidad y la extrañeza.
INFINITAMENTE PRÓXIMO
Por ser puramente posibles, “los posibles” nunca llegan a hacer nada ya que, por ser infinitamente posibles, nunca llegan a tocar la realidad. Que “los posibles” nunca llegan a hacer nada quiere decir que nunca deciden nada y que, por tanto, nunca emprenden ni comienzan nada (solo se aproximan infinitamente a algo, sin llegar nunca a ello) y, en consecuencia, nada termina. Y como solamente aquello que se ha hecho (comenzado y terminado) puede convertirse en un hecho (rígido e irreversible), los mundos posibles son mundos sin rigidez, sin hechos, en los cuales nadie llega a nacer (ni por tanto a alcanzar la plasticidad de la vida) y nadie puede morir (ni por tanto alcanzar la rigidez del cadáver).

HipoTesis has participated in the artistic project Unface Book. Evolutive book collaboratively written in a Facebook album, just published by Vibok Works from Paula Álvarez. Unface Book project has just been shortlisted to take part in the 2nd Istanbul Design Biennial.
Unface Book is an experimental publishing project aimed at using Facebook’s tools to generate an evolving book. This book unfolds inside an album of ‘Photos of You’ as a collection of intertwined thoughts exploring a given topic. An unwanted layer of meaning and utility is added to Facebook, so as to suggest deviant and dissonant uses, still supported by Facebook technologies. If design is about control, Unface Book tests accident. If posting usually focuses on the new and the present, Unface Book focuses on atemporal facts and values. If comments serve to share personal opinions inside walls and windows, Unface Book is about what crosses them, beyond design constrictions. If social networks promote transparency and openness, Unface Book explores opacity and inescrutability.
INFINITELY CLOSE
As they are purely possible, “the possibles” never manage to do anything because, being infinitely possible, they will never touch reality. The fact that “the possibles” never do anything means that they never decide anything and therefore they never undertake or start anything (they only infinitely come close to something but they never touch it) and, consequently, nothing ends. Since only that which has been done (started or finished) can become a fact (rigid and irreversible), the possible worlds are worlds without rigidity, without facts, where nobody comes to life (or achieve the plasticity of life for that matter) and nobody can die (or achieve the rigidity of a cadaver).
